Summer Students

When possible we recruit undergraduate students to contribute to research projects and develop their own research skills over the summer months. The application process and funding for these positions vary so get in touch if you are interested.

Recruitment for 2025 has now closed.

Recruitment for 2026 will open October/November 2025. This will be for summer studentships in summer 2026.

Please contact sinead.hynes@universityofgalway.ie for more information on how to apply for future opportunities.

Public and Patient Involvement (PPI) Panel

We will soon be looking for new members to join our COB-MS PPI panel. Please get in touch if this is something you would be interested in - we are looking for people living with MS and those who are caring for people with MS.

What is public and patient involvement (PPI)?
Patient and public involvement (PPI) in research is where research is “being carried out ‘with’ members of the public” not just “‘to’ or ‘for’ them”. The slogan “nothing about us without us” is another way of describing PPI. By having a PPI group we can be sure that our research is meeting your needs and what we are planning is appropriate.

We welcome interest from people with multiple sclerosis, people with dementia and people who support them who have an interest in contributing to, shaping, and/or leading on research projects.

If you would like to talk anything through or get more information please contact Dr Sinéad Hynes at sinead.hynes@universityofgalway.ie
